Scrolling through the photos on my iPhone makes me reflect on my year. It makes me realize how fast 365 days has gone by. I have dealt with so many changes in my personal life, and yet I have to say it’s one of the best years I have had after dads death.
One of many highlights this year, is that I landed my second dream job which I will reveal into the New Year. But before I do so, I need to finish the blog design which unfortunately the designer never completed. It’s been 6 months since she started on it and yet it’s still under construction. The worst part of it, is that she managed to loose a majority of my blog posts which no longer exist. Blog posts that I spent hours writing. But every experience is a lesson learned. Another highlight is that I got to travel with my childhood friends to London right before Christmas Eve. Every year from now on, we will go on a trip to a new city to get into that Christmas spirit mood. Traveling to new places, written new hotel reviews, making a lot of friends along the way and coloring my hair ash bronde (Thanks to Affi at Fine Frøkner) are among many highlights this year.
Today is the last day of year 2016. By the end of a year, I ask myself; What do I want to work towards next year? How do I reach another dream of mine? Which places do I need to visit? What should I blog more/less about? What should I do more of?
Although I sometimes struggle with feeling lonely, especially during Fathers Day or whenever I feel like calling my dad, I feel much lighter knowing I have wonderful people around me. Who lifts me up through the bad times and lifts me even higher up during the good times.
Like I have always said, everything I have done and experienced in life has redirected me to where I am today. Every experience is a lesson and it will only help us grow to be our best selves.
I’m excited for what 2017 has in store for me. One dream down and many more to pursue. In a year from now I’ll be sitting here reflecting on what 2017 has taught me. What dreams I managed to reach. What I managed to pursue. Which exciting places I got to travel to and think about those people who left footprints in my heart. We can only connect the dots backwards. So make the best of the next chapter of your life and don’t forget to be grateful, for every encounter you come across has a lesson or two to teach you.
Wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
