A forty five minute drive away from Lorgues, France lies the gem of the French Riviera – Saint Tropez. The glamorous jet-set town that was once a humble fishing village is located a hundred kilometres west of Nice, in the heart of Provence.

Hearing the words Saint Tropez makes me think about the mesmerizing azure blue seas, the sunny weather and its sandy shores. The popular travel destination is known for celebrities, designer boutiques and luxury yachts.

At the centre of Saint Tropez lies Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez – a five star luxury hotel with 90 elegant rooms and suites. The beautiful property features a Spa by Clarins with a sauna, hammam and a nail bar. It also has two restaurants; Le Pationata and Les Toits which offers Mediterranean and World cuisine. It also has a sun terrace where guests can relax and get a tan, or simply enjoy a delightful buffet breakfast every morning on the top floor of the hotel. If you’re tempted to take a dip in the pool after tanning an open-air swimming pool is located right next to the sun beds.

“Wow…” I thought to myself while staring at the pastel colored building. “I’m finally here!”. As I walked towards the entrance carrying my Louis Vuitton keepall weekend bag a man in black suit opened the glass door and greeted me with a warm welcome. I took off my black Céline sunglasses and the straw-hat that I bought at the market in Lorgues and introduced myself at the reception. After checking in, confirming my two-night stay and getting my keycards, a man from the concierge desk came towards me and insisted on bringing my belongings to the room. He must have thought that I brought a huge luggage with me besides my weekend bag. “Oh.. No, thank you” I said politely. “I can handle it, I only brought a weekend bag as I’m only staying here for a few days”.

I took the elevator to the second floor. As I wandered through the hallway, smiled to other hotel guests and said Hello to the housekeeping I found my room. I placed the keycard on the door handle and waited for a click-click sound before I opened. Straight ahead across the living room I get an eye on a fancy chair that was blocking the window. On my right hand side I had a walk in closet, all to myself. As I placed my weekend bag on the floor, I went to the left where the bathroom was and gave myself a tour around the room.

The suite was 37 sqm big. It had a king-sized bed and a separate living room with an overlooking view of the harbour. I had a lovely bathroom with rain shower and a bathtub that I didn’t get to use. After taking some photos of my room I rewarded myself with some sweets that the hotel had given me as a welcome gift. And to my biggest surprise; they had VOSS mineral water standing right next to it. Norwegian water, how I missed you!

After settling in in my colourfully decorated room with contemporary furniture, I went down and met up with Sabrina who gave me a tour around the property. The decoration at this hotel is inspired by the 1960s and 1970s. All areas have been equipped with the ultimate in technology. They simply have everything you need to keep in touch with the world.
