I'm currently sitting comfortably in my chair enjoying my new working desk while listening to A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton at 2 am. A song that brings back old memories from my high school years. Thanks to my best friend back then I overcame my stage fright by performing and singing to this song in front of a big crowd of students and teachers. I always do the things I'm afraid to do. Not because I want to torture myself, but rather because I want to challenge myself. I want to grow and be the best version of me possible. As they say, fear is not real. It is the product of thoughts you create. Danger however is very real, but fear is a choice.
Three days ago I had my wisdom tooth removed. Another fear conquered.
It's been awhile since I wrote a personal post. I decided to focus and keep holding on to the good things I love about my life. Writing about how I miss my father dear sure does help, but I'm not the same person I was half a decade ago. I grew apart from that girl who started thestrawberrybrunette.com in 2012, a girl who also held me back. I decided to leave the old domain behind to continue my journey at strawberrybrunette.com.
So here's a quick summery from February to current date. I went to Cambodia and got to see Angkor Wat for the first time. Another magical place I can check off my bucket list. Unfortunately, I broke my foot there. I didn't realize I was walking around with a fracture until I lost feelings in my toes when I was in Bangkok, Thailand. Right before Easter our driver from the Philippines and my only aunt from Norway passed away. In other words I wasn't doing well physically nor emotionally.
Despite of all these downs I still found the motivation and inspiration to work hard towards my dreams. I made my vision so clear that fear has become irrelevant. I have always had that belief, that everything happens for a reason. And now I know why I ended up where I did today and why I had to learn "the hard way". I will save that story for later. My journey is still unwritten.

I have Spanish blood in me. My middle name was Cruz before I had it removed ten years ago. I also got myself a new look. Darker hair with bangs! Affi truly deserves an award for being the best hairdresser on the planet.
