From personal experience settling in a sister hotel for a night or two after a long flight from Europe will do wonders. It will prepare you for your upcoming safari adventures and calms your nerves down as stepping into the wilderness can be quite overwhelming.

Menlyn Boutique hotel is located in Pretoria, South Africa. Johannesburg International airport is a 45-minute drive away.

Set in a big property with lush green plants and comfortable chairs and sofas beautifully arranged around the hotel - gives its guests a place to sit back, relax and enjoy every moment.

Menlyn houses 27 luxuriously decorated rooms. Aside from having Express Rooms, Standard Rooms and Executive Suites, they also have Self-catering Units and a Presidential Suite.

It also features a year-round outdoor pool with chairs and loungers, a spa and a fitness center. Guests can enjoy a lovely meal at the ultimate five-star restaurant, Black Bamboo. It's run by celebrated head Chef Pellie Grobler and offers the best of South African fine dining.

The Presidental Suite

My temporary home was located on the second floor with a private balcony overlooking the parking lot. The spacious room was furnished with a king sized bed, a sofa with a "living room" feeling despite being arranged in the same room as the bed. It features a Plasma TV and a working desk with a computer.

The room is also equipped with a phone called Handy, you can use it as your own phone. You can call, you can text and you can use the navigation app to make it much easier for the guests to follow directions without getting lost.

The Presidential Suite has a separate bathroom with a tub and a shower.
