YOUR CONTEMPORARY BOUTIQUE BEACHFRONT
RESORT IN BORACAY

Good morning. Last week I flew to Boracay with my cousin, Tess and stayed at The District Boracay for two nights – a beachfront resort located in station 2 at the center of the world-famous island of Boracay. The District has been awarded the 12th spot in TripAdvisor’s 25 Outstanding hotels in the Philippines.

The District has 48 air-conditioned rooms with balcony and free Wi-Fi access throughout the property. The hotel features an outdoor pool with jacuzzi, three dining options and a roof deck. The in-house restaurant, Vigan Grill offers Continental buffet breakfast daily with hot selections, while Caruso Ristorante Italiano serves fine Italian cuisine. Local and Asian dishes are available at the Star Lounge where ate Tess and I dined in – I will write about the dinner experience and post it on the blog for you to read. Thanks Grace and Adrian for being our servants, you made our night even more special by your kindness.

P1010972Soon there will be a spa area which is set to open sometime this fall. The hotel is only 120 meters away from the famous D’Mall Boracay, where guests can enjoy shopping and entertainment. The friendly staff can also assist you with luggage storage and help to arrange for massage services on site.

I woke up at 02:30 in the morning as our flight was departing at 06:15am. I only got five hours of sleep which was enough to keep me awake for the flight. We arrived in Caticlan airport at 07:35am. We were greeted by Joef, the airport representative of the hotel – a sweet guy who tok care of us and helped us with our luggages. Our chauffeur Paul, was already waiting for us in the parking lot – he greeted us with a warm smile and two bottles of cold mineral water.

We couldn’t leave right away as there was still one more person we were waiting for. As soon as he arrived Paul started the engine and drove us to Tabon port where we tok a private boat ride to Tambisaan port which is located on Boracay island. When we arrived we were greeted by another chauffeur, Jiorry who was going to drive us to this drop point where we had to walk to the hotel by foot for a few minutes. Our luggages were taken good care of Gerald, another hotel representative.

Upon checking in we were warmly greeted by the front desk. Chermaine, the receptionist who assisted us at that time, told me we got an upgrade from a Deluxe room to a Premier Suite. What a lovely surprise! I wasn’t sure if they made a mistake first, so I had to ask again. But no – we got the suite. For a few minutes there I forgot I was tired – all I could feel was pure joy.

TWO-STOREY PREMIER SUITE

Charmaine led us the way and showed us our room which is located in the fourth floor. The first thing I noticed the second she opened the door was a soothing and relaxing scent. She gave us a little room tour before she left us to settle in. One of the first things I do when I step inside a hotel room is looking around and getting to know where everything is, and open the letter that was written for me to read. Second thing is picture taking, then lastly I start unpacking my things.

P1010963Our spacious two-storey Premier Suite features a loft with a soft king-sized bed, flatscreen TV, floor-to-ceiling glass window and a balcony – facing south. Downstairs (note: be careful when walking down the stairs as it is slippery) there’s also a balcony with a sun bed – facing north.

First floor also features a flatscreen TV and a living room area. There are five Premier Suites in the property, they are approx. 48 to 70 sqm in size and can accommodate up to three persons. The room has tiled flooring with modern décor. It’s also equipped with a personal safe, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar.

The Premier Suite has a separate bathroom that comes with a hairdryer and free toiletries. Ate Tess and I enjoyed our stay. The staff always made sure we had everything we needed. I also got a quick tour in the Deluxe room we were supposed to stay at – I’ll show you how it looks like soon. Our trip to Boracay was a memorable one, although the weekend went by fast we still got to check off things from our bucket list. By the way, did you know what The District Boracay is also famous for serving the Best Brunch Buffet in Boracay, and for its Italian restaurant Caruso Ristorante Italiano? Well now you know!

During our last hours at the hotel we got a wake up call early in the morning and then spent a short time packing our belongings. Our to-go breakfast was waiting for us in the lobby as well as Ramsel, the airport representative and Gian, our chaffeur. Thank you Ramsel for taking good care of us all the way from the hotel to the airport. Thank you The District Boracay and to the rest of the staff who made us feel home. You guys know who you are!
